We all have busy lives and sometimes it’s hard to find a day in the middle of the week to do the cleaning. Usually it’s on Saturday when we do the cleaning , and takes half of the day. We all know that it’s hard to balance work during the business-days, running with kids from school activities to sport practices and finding time to clean your home. But what if I tell you that it’s possible to have a clean house in only 20 min a day.
Here is how to do this. First, don’t worry to do everything at once, do one task a day and only when time allows you. Things will start to work themselves out at the end of the week. Of course this can’t include deep cleaning, such as inside fridge, cabinets, closets, etc but this is still a good level of cleaning. So let’s get started.
1. Organizing your house. Look around your house and pick up or put away anything that is out of place. Create a small area by the front door for incoming items (newsletters, paper, promotional materials and keys).
2. Laundry and dishes Try to wash your dishes after each meal, or at least put them straight to the dishwasher. Wash your laundry a little bit each day and not only one day a week, it will save you some time and make things easier to load into machines. Fold them right after the laundry is done, don’t leave your clothes on your bed for the next day.
3. Time your work Make sure that you set up a timer for 20 min while you’re cleaning, it will give you motivation for the next day to keep cleaning throughout the week. 20 min will be enough, sometimes it’s easy to get distracted by a phone call, the kids, or news on television. So set a timer and try to enjoy the work you’re doing it will be beneficial at the end of the week believe me.
Here is a simple schedule that will help you to keep your house clean with the minimum work:
Monday – Look around your house and put away things that bother you or move them to a place where they belong. Clean and wipe toilets, sinks and mirrors in your house.
Tuesday – Run through house and do the organizing. Once done, focus on cleaning showers, showers doors and bathtubs.
Wednesday – Look around your house and put away things that bother you or move them to a place where they belong. Vacuum all rooms in your house, and if you have time quickly do the dusting.
Thursday – Run through the house and do the organizing. Mop the floors or any hardwood and linoleum surfaces in each room of your house, try to do this step on the day after vacuuming, so you know that’s the floor is still clean.
Friday – Look around and quickly put away things that bother you or move them to a place where they belong. Today we’ll focus on your kitchen, wipe and polish all kitchen appliances and cabinets.
Saturday – Run through the house and do the organizing. Do the dusting in each room. Work your way from the top to the bottom of the surface.
Sunday – relax and enjoy your clean, fresh and lovely house!
